Wellesbourne Cricket club is a well established, modern club with a long and proud history dating back to the early 19th century. The club can boast five teams, the Ist XI, playing in the Cotswold Hills League, Premier Division, the 2nd XI, playing in the Cotswold League, Division Five and for the under 16’s playing in the Cotswold Hills League and a mid week team playing in the Leamington and District Midweek League. On top of this the club currently plays friendly games on a Sunday afternoon during the season.

The club is pro-active in the junior section and does everything it can to bring on young players and establish a love of the game in them. Regular training nights are arranged, where senior players are present to pass on instruction and advise and the clubs overseas player is on hand to offer tips and encouragement.

Like any good club there is a full and active social calendar, and during the season events are arranged which include a Summer Ball, Quiz Nights, Presentation evenings, Golf days and more. These events are open to all club members, their friends and supporters of the club.

The club also organises an annual tour to Eastbourne, which generally takes place during August. This tour is open to all club members and is strongly supported by friends and supporters. It is always a great success whatever the final result of a match and is another way we build a sense of community in the club.

A club without supporters is a soulless place and thankfully Wellesbourne is blessed with loyal support. Anyone with a love of the game, or even a passing interest, is always welcome to come along on match days and offer support and sample some the the fine refreshments on offer at the bar, which is always open during a match.
